2012 is a big year that’s already full of new developments at Irving Farm. Perhaps the biggest is the new cafe we’re building on the Upper West Side.

The design, courtesy of our friends at LEVENBETTS, is going to be the perfect setting for our coffee program and a great cafe menu.

We’re really excited about this project, and we’ll be bringing you more details on the progress through the winter months. For now, have a look at this shot from our demolition and a couple of views of the design for the space.

Where are all the coffee folk on the Tumblr??

How to Not Get Hit by a Car While Walking the Streets of New York — Daily Intel
Quick summary and stand out stats (from 7000 auto/pedestrian collisions between 2002 and 2006):
In 80% of the collisions, the pedestrian was struck by a car with a male driver.
Only 13% of the collisions involved taxis/cabs. A whopping 79% involved private passenger cars.
Brooklyn is the deadliest borough for pedestrians (didn’t dig for the stats).
NYC in general, is still safer than most American cities, but not quite as safe as some other global cities.
